spyhouse's sybarite

<< Sep 11, 2005 @ 18:57 >>

I had a conversation with myself and after coming up with several of what could be considered very good ideas for how to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon and poopoo'ing them all, we came up with reading Lullaby at Spyhouse down the street. We liked that idea.

Uma was there with her boyfriend, but after she purchased – or he purchased for her – a glass bottle of pop, they went across the street and sat at the stoop of apartment No. 1. After a few minutes, they both quietly got off (woah... biggest Freudian ever? they got up) and walked in opposite directions. Uma, headed south, I think was on her way to a waitressing shift at little T's.

The cold-pressed iced coffee at Spyhouse is better than some hot coffee I've had in my life. It was a very welcome surprise. They have this little fortune machine there that gives you a piece of paper with your fortune on it for a quarter. The fact that it is entirely analog gives it some cred in my book. My fortune said:

"You have a 25% chance of graduating from college."

I got there via Nicolet, but I decided to go home via 1st, though I instead took the alley. Funny thing: The "Make Whittier Prettier" community office is right there next to Spyhouse. If I'd taken Nicolet I'd have never known. It is kind of lame to be inspired by a pop culture film such as The [s]Exorcism of Emily R[^HH]oes, but my spontaneous decision to not take Nicolet home, and spotting the "Make Whittier Prettier" office made me feel like right then I was exactly where I was supposed to be... on my path.

When I'm stable long enough, I start to look around for love.

Fucking spooky.... all that destiny shit I was just spouting, and then iTunes randomly picks this song I've never actually ever listened to before... whose opening two lines start just as I need some lyrics for my blog entry... and they happen to be the story of my life.

Then the song itself is basically the story of Di and I.

Did you change fonts or is my computer broken? If it's the former, it sucks. If it's the latter, you suck.
