So my Jetta has officially been retired. I've got myself a 2004 Saab 9-3 now. 22,000 miles. Heated leather seats. In-dash 6 CD changer. 16" alloy rims. 175HP 2L turbo. Sun/Moonroof. Ridiculous and magical cup-holder. I think it is pretty great that the Mach 7 (as it shall be known) is the product of a jet company. How apropos, as it were. Here's what it looked like while it was still on the dealer's lot:

Now that I wear Swedish clothes from H&M, while bringing Swedish furniture from Ikea home in my Swedish car (while eating Swedish fish... well, I mean... that could happen) I pretty much have to listen to Swedish music.

Fortunately, Sweden can do much better than Abba. Sweden has that whole Scandinavian metal thing going for it.

I kind of started my exploration here, only to discover I don't really like the melodic metal. Opeth and Amon Amarth just weren't doing it for me. I can't recommend them. Meshuggah on the other hand, not too shabby. I was on the right road. I just had to make sure to take the right turns.

Specifically, the turns marked 'deathgrind' and 'deathcore' in giant bloody letters.

Each turn led me closer to Valhalla. And let me tell you, I'm pretty sure that Bird Flesh, Exhale, and Gadget are booked to play there every night for eternity.

I'm just gonna have to let this one technicality slide.

Oh, I shouldn't forget to mention that Sweden has also produced some great Nintendocore. Three or four of the albums in my new 1.4GB collection of Nintendocore mp3s are from Swedish bands.

To be fair, the car isn't made by an airplane company. The airplanes are made by an airplane company, the cars are made by GM ...
