The idea of putting an adult you are angry at on a time out is funny enough by itself. But, this made me wet my pants.

i weep for internet nostalgia

What the fuck is wrong with me? Wait. You know what. I'm not going to elaborate.

Anyway, I hadn't been to The Black Table in quite a long time despite it having a former elite status on my internet daily reading list. Turns out, they stopped publishing new content in January. I suppose if I knew where to find the people involved elsewhere in the world I could pick up where they left off... but I still miss what was a really great status quo. I guess the good news is I have over a year of content to catch up on.

If you aren't familiar with The Black Table I suggest you start with Life as a Loser or even better dig into Waxing Off.

Ah, you learn something new every day.

Like Fatal Familial Insomnia, for instance.

The disease has four stages, taking 7 to 18 months to run its course:

1. The patient suffers increasing insomnia, resulting in panic attacks and phobias. This stage lasts about four months.
2. Hallucinations and panic attacks become noticeable, continuing about five months.
3. Complete inability to sleep is followed by rapid loss of weight. This lasts about three months.
4. Dementia, turning unresponsive or mute over the course of six months. This is the final progression of the disease, and the patient will subsequently die.

There is no cure or treatment for FFI; hopes rest on the so far unsuccessful gene therapy. Sleeping pills have no effect.

Amazing.

Of course then there is Kuru, which you can only get by eating the brains of your ancesters.

a killer's 1000 yard stare"If you go down to the pond today
You're sure of a big surprise.
If you go down to the pond today
Prepare to cover your eyes.
For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their piiiiiiiiiic-nic."

Is that bear in a fisherman's outfit?

holy shit I saw Man Man in concert last night and it was so fucking brilliant. amazing. the band all has these really big real mustaches and/or beards, so like half the audience had them drawn on their face or fake ones glued on. they had to have female lead singers for both opening bands because there was so much man on the stage for Man Man. They're completely ridonkadonk. Their singing is already kind of like shouting so I think I completely lost my voice screaming MOUSTACHE MOUSTACHE MOUSTACHE! and SPIDER SPIDER SPIDER SPIDER! and FEE FI FO FUM! and THIS SHIP WILL SAIL AND THIS HEART WON'T DIE! ...and then there was all the screaming between songs, and all the screaming to get them to come back and play more songs that went something like this: PLAY IT ALL AGAIN! ALL OF IT! PLAY THE WHOLE SET AGAIN! YOU FUCKERS PLAY MORE! MOOOOOOOOORE! I'LL KILL YOU! GET BACK ON STAGE! and so on. I probably would have been "that guy" at the show if it wasn't for the fact that nobody could hear me on account of everybody else in the place screaming just as much. Well, ok... like two people did turn around at one point. But they were entertained.

If you can't tell by now, I was drunk.

They tried to leave the stage three times only to come right back and play more cause the crowd was so rowdy. The forth time the house cut the audio and turned on the lights.

One of the opening bands, Fort Wilson Riot, it turns out is local. And they're kind of like a female lead version of Man Man a bit. They're really, really good, too. They did a like 20 minute epic about pirates. It was genius.

As for what happened afterwards... at the CC Club... and Little T's... I blame Jesse myself.
