Wait, so if a baby chicken, a chick, hatches from those eggs you eat for breakfast... and a fertilised egg is only different from the kind you eat in that a rooster's (cock!) sperm has wiggled it's way in there to deliver the rest of the genetic code/DNA... then that means all the raw materials needed to build that chick are already inside that egg...
...which means eating an egg is the equivalent to swallowing one baby chicken whole... bones, beak, feathers and all.

oh. well. i guess so. in the same way that eating a rocky mountain oyster is like eating lamb.
some of those chemical reactions are kinda important.
